A wedding is a ceremony that celebrates the beginning of a marriage or civil union. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. In some countries, cultures and religions, the actual act of marriage begins during the wedding ceremony. In others, the legal act of marriage occurs at the time of signing a marriage license or other legal document, and the wedding is then an opportunity to perform a traditional ceremony and celebrate with friends and family. A woman being married is called a bride, a man called a bridegroom, after the ceremony they become a wife and a husband.
Rings have been exchanged as a symbol of the bond of marriage for so long, and in so many different cultures, that the origin of the practice is obscure. Certainly, the circle of a ring represents undying love and the continually renewed vows of the married couple. Circles have long been archetypes for not only timelessness, but also wholeness and homecoming. The circle also speaks to the constant round of the heavens, as well as the eternal return of the seasons, marked by cyclical ritual and celebration.
According to ancient traditions, a wedding ring, as a symbol of conjugal faithfulness, should be simple, without any fancy features. Nowadays this principle is not so stringent. More and more married couples want their wedding rings to be decorated with diamonds or other gemstones.
Platinum wedding ring provides an elegant and modernistic look that you usually can’t achieve with gold. In the past platinum was usually mixed with gold, but these days you can get wedding rings made of pure platinum. When well polished, it sparkles as much as gold and have a really brilliant look. It can easily withstand household routine, and even if you constantly wear your ring 20 years after your wedding it will look the same as when you first wear it.

When considering precious gems for a ring, remember that you will likely wear this ring every day for the rest of your life. Therefore, while softer stones can be beautiful, they aren’t the best choices for an engagement or wedding ring. The Mohs scale registers a stone’s ability to resist abrasion; 10 (diamonds) is the strongest and 1 (talc) is the weakest. Anything less than a Mohs scale 7 is not recommended for an engagement ring. If you are a person who does a lot of activity with their hands (how long does a manicure last on you?) then I would advise limiting your selection to rubies, sapphires and diamonds.
